If you had to give someone starting out in sales some valuable advice that would help then to hit the ground running, what advice would that be?
Answer
- Have a plan well laid out for territory. Create a call plan with a expected objective.
-Find the best performing Sales person in the business you are working for, copy what they do and ask them to be your coach/mentor
-Keep records of every customer you make a sale to and follow them up. Birthdays, Christmas, any occasion. Stay in touch with them. Salespeople are forgotten unless they are active.
- Listen carefully to what your customers say and take notes. You have to demonstrate you are fully engaged in helping them find solutions.

-Manage your time effectively
- Understand your product first. Understand the market and the customers as to why should they use your product. Detail out everything what your customer wants and how your product can deliver that. Lastly make sure your customers see your efforts and how effectively you are working to help them in their bottlenecks.
- Learn as much as you can about what you are selling, the marketplace and your customer(s) as fast as you can.
-Prepare yourself for a lot of rejection. But understand it's not personal, and that each "no" brings you one step closer to a "yes"
