The Philippines blocks off the island a popular tourist spot due to environmental concern

The Philippines has announced the closure of the popular island resort of Boracay, a six-month delay due to concern over the increasing number of tourists visiting the area.
According to the order by Philippine President Rodrigo Verde, the island is scheduled to close on April 26. The announcement is not yet confirmed, but will be announced via Twitter.
The closing announcement raises questions about the lives of people in the area, where tradesmen, wholesalers, lodging companies and tourism services are being held. Last year, two million tourists visited there.
Boracay has about 500 businesses serving tourism, with a total of $ 1.07 billion. Authorities did not elaborate on the issue, which is due to the delay.
In February, Dutter responded that hotels, restaurants and other businesses had dumped waste and sewage into the sea, affecting the environment.
